MEASURING/SIZING
MEASURING
For a harness to be escape proof and yet comfortable it is essential the harness fits properly. Here are some tips for taking good measurements. 1. Make sure kitty is co-operative - nothing worse than wrestling with your kitty to take measurements. When they are tired and napping or semi-napping I find is the best time. 2. Do not over tighten or be too loose with your measuring tape. I slip 2 fingers under the measuring tape and then tighten, this ensures room to breath. 3. Positioning - the most important measurement is the girth or "B" measurement, too close to the middle of the tummy and you will get a girth that is too big, right behind the front paws is perfect. Happy Measuring!! SIZES SMALL - 5+ pounds, up to 13" girth MEDIUM - 7+ pounds, up to 13" to 15" girth LARGE - 13+ pounds, up to 15" to 17" girth XLARGE - 20+ pounds, up to 17" to 19" girth 2XLARGE - 25+ pounds, custom sizing What if I'm at the beginning of one size? For example, if your kitty has a girth of 15", you can either get a Medium if your kitty is an adult and will no longer be growing, this will more than likely last your adult kitty for a long time. I would get a Large for a young kitten that is still growing, this would give the kitten room to grow and you wouldn't have to buy a new harness as soon. |
